This Yuga wants women to rise and manifest dignity, character and strength that they have been made to suppress within for ages for reasons best known to them. Manifest it, come what may! Woman isn’t helpless!
Women need to find a dignified way to manifest their strength. They have the same potential as men have. But, they will have to throw away their “slavish attitude and rise like giants”. Just go a little into the past and you will find that Indian women had refused to come out of their traditional mould of bahu, beti , bahin and saas. But gradually, they are breaking the old moulds and rising like individuals. That is what is required from them even today. They should also break the mould that they are physically weak. They aren’t. They should train themselves physically, emotionally and put a firm footing in society as personalities. The need of the hour for them is to make personality development as the core of their multi-faceted existence. It doesn’t mean they are not like that. But, they are such in less numbers. Woman of strong character and strength are what we need today. They should be combat experts, have weapons training along with what they have already developed. I think in the present time, they need to be breaking moulds and showing great intelligence and character strength that they have. They should demolish people’s mindset which holds them emotional, sentimental fools. I pray that they rise in character strength and great intelligence rather than following man’s ways. Men have accepted corruption, immorality and disloyalty as Yugdharma. Women should accept non-corruption, morality and loyalty to the right cause as their Yugdharma. This will automatically bring out the best in them and reset Yuga for good, as people want!
What is Yuga?
Yuga in Sanskrit means junction, or joining point. However, later it was translated as the time period. This change in the meaning has given Yuga the meaning of a time period. In fact, it only means the junction. But of what? Generations and generations have passed since the earth first had population and that is still continuing. Everything that exists is living—may it be “non-living or living.” That way what is continuous is life. If you have closely watched a bamboo shoot grow, you will recongnise the phenomenon of continuity. A bamboo shoot increases in length, however, it has joining points which separate previous section from the new one. This joining is called Yuga. What it reveals is that no progression is possible without these junctions. These junctions are, in fact, signs of movement, continuity which show completion of one phase and beginning of the next. The same junctions are found in our body, trees and the universe. They have been described as Chandas in the nervous system and maatras in the vibratory motion in the universe. Basically, a Yuga, therefore, is nothing but a measure of time, conveying completion of one phase and beginning of the other. What goes up, comes done. What has a measure has to be circular. And a circular is nothing but a repetition. Isn’t it? You can’t measure infinity. Therefore, it has no measure. But, a Yuga has a measure. The rishis of the yore had researched deeply and studied all these progressions closely and found that a particular thought process prevails in a particular time period. It has a beginning, the middle and the end (completion). However, believe you me they particularised these time periods as Satyuga, Dwapar, Treta, Kaliyuga and Satyuga again. Now understand them as a continuous whole, they are not separate. According to the rishis, Kali in Sanskrit means 1 and strife. Therefore, it is the first one. Dwapar means 2. Treta means three and Satyug means zero. Understand it! There are three basic properties of Energy. These are —Tam, Raj and Sat. In the Kaliyuga, Tam, means dark thoughts, strife etc prevail and Raj and Sat remain subdued. In Dwapar, couples like Raj ( Passion) and Sat (knowledge and energy), or Raj and Tam (darkness) prevails. That means, Raj is the ruling sentiment. Sat is the undercurrent and Tam is the challenger. Arjuna, represents Raj with Sat undercurrent. Duryodhan represents Tam with Sat undercurrent. Strife happens. The battle of Mahabharat happens. Treta is unique as, here three are dominant one at a time. Sat vs Raj vs Tam, Sat vs Tam vs Raj, Raj vs Tam vs Sat. Rishis (sat) faced Tamsik forces (Asuras), Rajas (faced asuras). All the properties are equally dominant. Rishis were threatened by Ausras. Ram killed Asuras for Rishis. Ram as king faced Ravan (asura). He assumed the Sat and killed Asura with an army which was represented by animal force. Satyuga is when all the three gunas are in perfect harmony with predominance of Sat. This is what the Yugas basically mean. This is the broadest ever generalisation. I have revealed to you the principle. Now we are going towards Satyuga, as per the rishis.
Practical understanding
Krishna says He projects Himself from time to time (Yugey Yugey) to protect the good, kill the evil and re-establish the right ideas and laws. Now a Yuga could be taken as the pre-defined time zones or as the moment of when you need such changes. It can be at the personal level or social level. The moment the honest feel they need protection, that power of time manifests that very moment and does the three jobs as defined above. But, it all depends on how sincerely you demand. It could be a false demand, as is found in a majority of cases today. People do certain wrong things and then they raise a false demand for protection. Sorry! They don’t get it. Majority of us come in this category!

According to Hindu mythology yug means a certain period of time. One yug is a period of thousands of years.There are four yugs as per Hindu puran-- kruta, Treta, Dwapaar, and Kali.
Kruta yug is also called as Satya Yug. Every Yuga has its advantages as well as disadvantages. Adharma was the common feature of all the yuga’s as Hari himself came in each yuga, for protection of Dharma. The only difference conceivable is the amount of adharmi’s which were less in other yuga’s than the kaliyuga In Kaliyuga no one cares about Dharma or how the violation of it affects them –morally,physically and spiritually. More than Adharmis, there is huge amount of increase in Aasuris( this point was even picked up by our beloved Vivek Sir in Gita sessions).
No, they should not feel helpless in this yuga. So, how do we get better? We make girls aware of the position which they occupy in the world which is no less than the other gender and teach them to respect their position while achieving their goals. We should teach them that while they should be streetwise and aware, they should never have to miss out on an opportunity because of fear. We should teach them that they shouldn’t have to get on cabs late at night and position themselves by other women or “nice looking families”, as one of my friends told me she did. If we teach girls to look out for each other, then we should teach boys to look out for them too. We teach them you don’t need to get married to be financially and physically secure in this world. Quite simply, it all boils down to the fact that women are sick of being the damsels in distress. They're sick of removing themselves from situations out of worry that the worst will happen. Quite frankly, they've got better things to do than be terrified all the time.
Inference: Kaliyuga is marked by increase in Asuri’s than Adharmi’s. Women should know they are not less than any gender.

We live in Kaliyug which is basically rahu's yug which is all about perception rather than deep understanding and morality. So yes, the status of the women has surely degraded but because we let our perceptions govern us rather than reasoning. The women should not be considered helpless since it is just a perception about them and the reality is always different.
Inference: Kaliyug is marked by less understanding and more sensual gratification. Women are strong the contrary view is just a perception.

The Brahma Vaivarta Purana (related to Rathantara kalpa) mentions a ten thousand-year period, starting from the traditional dating of the Kali Yuga epoch, during which bhakti yogis will be present.[17] Lord Krishna foretold that Kali Yuga will be full of extreme hardships for people with ideals and values.
"At the end of Kali-yuga, when there exist no topics on the subject of God, even at the residences of so-called saints and respectable gentlemen of the three higher varnas (guna or temperament) and when nothing is known of the techniques of sacrifice, even by word, at that time the Lord will appear as the supreme chastiser." Avarice and wrath will be common. Humans will openly display animosity towards each other. Ignorance of dharma will occur.
Inference: Kaliyuga is an age which will see decline of character and morality in ruling and the ruled.

The women are considered as a wife is helpless, weaker, and dependent and a liability. If we have to truly empower women and put them on equal footing we need to change our perception of her as a helpless human. If she is educated, she should earn as an equal, share all responsibilities as an equal and a man has to in turn share the domestic and parenting responsibilities as an equal.
Women’s stories remain mostly in folklore. In the old texts there are hints of a free and different age, perhaps a matriarchal society. There are one or two mentions like the city in the north where women lived freely, equal to men, choosing their own mates and living life on their own terms. Not surprisingly they had very high walls and protections to keep the others out. Of course we have only hints. No women from that city wrote anything that I can find. Women will not obey and serve their husbands.

Each yuga is an age with specific characteristics in which incarnations of Krishna appear. The four yugas make up a cycle called divya-yuga, which lasts 4,320,000 years. One thousand of these yugas equal one day of Brahma, which is called a kalpa. Brahma's lifespan is 100 years of his time. In each yuga there is a specific process of self-realization (yuga dharma).
SATYA YUGA - (sometimes also called krta-yuga): the golden age lasts 1,728,000 years. The process of self-realization in this yuga is meditation on Visnu. During this yuga the majority of the population is situated in the mode of goodness and the average life span at the beginning of the yuga is 100,000 years.
TRETA YUGA - also called the silver age, lasts 1,296,000 years and the process of self realization is the performance of opulent yajnas(sacrifices). The average life span is 10,000 years and the godly qualities decrease one fourth compared to the Satya yuga.
It is during this age that Varna-asrama-dharma is introduced.
DVAPARA YUGA - or the bronze age, lasts 864,000 years and the process of self realization is the worship of the deities within temples. Godly qualities are reduced to 50% by now and the average life expectancy is only 1000 years.
KALI YUGA - the iron age of hypocrisy and quarrel lasts 432,000 years. Lord Krsna appeared in His original, trancendental form right before the beginning of Kali Yuga. The process of self realization is sankirtana, the chanting of the Holy Names of the Lord. God consciousness is reduced to 25% of the population and life expectancy is only 100 years. Till now 5000 years of Kali yuga have passed and it is predicted that by the end of the yuga people will hardly be older than 20 years and their only food will be meat.
Sita and Draupadi
Both characters in hindu mythology occupy a really powerful role in Ramayana and Mahabarata as well as in Indian Literature. However, much like classical literature, there are raging complexities that lie underneath the supposedly simple surface. Both women play vital roles in honor bound times and both have to endure a specific level of challenge because of this position. Sita must battle through the elements in being Lord Rama’s wife while Draupadi finds challenges in being married to the five Pandavas.
Both Sita and Draupadi were the central female characters of the two great Indian epics, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata respectively. Both were Srestha Naris in their time. They were equally powerful and ended up being two of the greatest women in Indian history. Neither Sita nor Draupadi were born in their respective vanshas or lineages - Sita was found while ploughing the Earth, while Draupadi rose from king Drupada's yagna fire.Sita too had a powerful side
Though Sita was known to be mild-mannered, she also had a powerful side to her. In contrast to her slight frame, she had great mental strength and exhibited it throughout her life. Sita made some powerful speeches during the course of the exile. The first time, she speaks to Rama, telling him an ancient story about ahimsa or nonviolence. Mark my words: Sita has gone into the very vitals of our race. She is there in the blood of every Hindu man and woman; we are all children of Sita."

No, one does not need to consider women as a helpless being if that was the case then we are not discussing it at all. Rather the worth is being realized by each sect of the society.

In order to survive woman pretend to be weak. Men on some level are aware that a woman is lying to him when she pretends to be weak. Their relationships are insidiously corrupted by the vapors of pretence. This miasmic soup of deception brings happiness to none, neither man nor woman. Women are not helpless in this Yuga.
Inference: Women are not helpless in this Yuga they pretend to be weak to survive. In Kaliyuga relationships are mere pretence with no substance.
