You are just nothing without Kunti
She is the basis of the entire Mahabharata. Kunti, who was the daughter of Shurasena and sister of Vasudeva. Vasudeva was father of Krishna. Interestingly, her original name was Pritha (पृथा). Shurasena gave the daughter to his childless cousin Kuntibhoj where she would serve guests with all diligence and sincerity. She was so sincere that even quick-to-curse-and-hard-to-please Maharishi Durvasa developed a soft corner for her. He foresaw an unavoidable situation in her life and gave her a magical spell as a remedy. He told her that the spell would bring any deity of her choice to her to make a child. Out of curiosity, she called the sun and bore Karna whom she discarded. Later, she was married to Pandu. Pandu married another woman Madri. But he was cursed death by a Rishi the moment he tried to be intimate with his wives. This is the moment Kunti shared the Durvasa's spell with Madri and they both had the five Pandavas. Yudhisthira, Arjuna and Bheem were from Kunti and Nakul and Sahdeva from Madri. Madri and Pandu died of the curse soon thereafter.
Example: What if rains don't fall on the earth? We will have a dry spell. Who draws the rains? Pritha. What happens when your system lacks Pritha? Females will struggle with conception, delivery and nourishment of the child. Males will not have the fertile fluid in the absence of पृ (healthy nourishment). They too will have a weak constitution. Where do we have nourishment from ? It is through the power of Pritha, which gives us healthy vegetables, animals and birds as food.
Takeaway: We should respect the earth and her power of providing us shelter, food and nourishment. So, always remember Pritha with reverence.
