Get up and say no to assert the truth!

Let these educationists know ‘no’ is not negative!
By Vivek Sharma

Never use ‘no’, if you want to be positive. This is how pseudo-educationists teach their students today. They are churning out a generation of confused minds who face quite the contrary in the growing life situations, but are unable to say a firm no to what they don’t like.
The logic of such educationists is simple. If a child does something wrong, you don’t tell him no, instead tell him to do what is right. Of course, it is a western logic, not Indian. This does help you, but to some extent. After that it is useless. The situations around you will force you to say no to some things in order to say yes to something else!

My suggestion to children and teachers is to use no in order to assert the yes. This is the Sanatan way of teaching. This is how Krishna taught Arjuna and the likes. If, according to ‘western apists’, you want your children to say yes all the time, then he/she might lose his natural strength to use the no to save himself or herself. I would like to tell these pseudo-educationists that no is not negative as you presume it is. Just because a British fool said so you have accepted it like intellectual slaves and carrying it forward like stupid loyalists. Hardly do they know that even their British masters are fast adopting the Gurukul system of education. It is sad that we have a crop of such education centres where teachers ask students to accept everything British or English with a compulsive yes. Can you imagine a sieve without a net of yeses and nos. The yeses allow through it what is required (the grain) and the nos stop what isn’t required (the stone). Learn from the sieve and imagine what shall be the brain of the student with all yes—a big hole at best!

Why no Is Important

No is not negative. It is the assertion of the positive, according to the Sanskrit grammar, when it is used with a statement of truth. To simplify it for the British brains what the Sanatan logic teaches us is no in the ‘no, I will speak the truth’ sentence is assertion of the truth and hence not negative. It become negative when it asserts the negative, like in the sentence—No, I will not speak the truth. But, again, in the sentence No, I will not speak the untruth, the no asserts the truth only.  So, where do you find no is negative. It is all in your brain. According to the Sanatan Dharm and Mīmānsā, no is the asserter, affirmer of whatever it is used with. So the use of no is not blasphemous. ‘“Oh! Don’t do it with me, Oh God help me! No, no, no don’t kill me,”  I said my prayers when the sharp knife was gently sliding off my neck skin. I heard a zip of a bullet and then the knife fell on my knees and the holder on me. God had saved me…”’ This is the sentence from an American journalist whose use of ‘don’t’ negative made God hear and save his life from the ISIS knife!

There is a famous Sanskrit saying, it goes like सत्यमेव जयते नानृतं किंचित्। It means,  Truth alone prevails always, not the untruth, no way! See how no has been used here. Is it negative teaching? Clear your brains of the garbage being dumped in your heads by some stupid educationists and education institutions.
Krishna says in Discourse 2, Shloka 16, नासतो विद्यते भावो नाभावो विद्यते सतः। It means, the untruth has no existence and the truth is no deficient in existence—it is everywhere. Oh My God, Krishna has used no so many times to convey the truth. He must be a negative minded fellow. See how your ‘no is negative teaching’ breathes its last on the Sanatan land!
Don’t accept whatever these English slaves are teaching you in the name of modern education. No is not negative. It is the asserter of whatever it qualifies. I have given you many examples. Negative is as important as positive is. But Sanatanis and the old rishis of Bharat knew how to use no to assert the truth. Do this. Don’t get into your heads no-is-negative, use of no makes you negative kind of enslaving ideology. This is how the British ruled you—they didn’t want you to say no to what they did. That means you had to compulsively say yes by not saying no to their policies. Not saying no means saying yes. And saying yes all the time is an invitation to life’s misery and weakness to handle situations. Get up and say no to assert the truth!
