Dhrishtketu

Let Dhrishtketu take over from your Shishupal!

He is the son of king Shishupal. Shishupal  is killed by Krishna. Despite this, Dhrishtketu fights for the Pandavas and gets killed by Dron. He is made king of Chedi dynasty by Yudhisthir after his father’s murder. Shishupal     had been provoked Krishna 100 times. He even burnt Krishna’s Dwarika, stole the horse of Krishna’s father and committed many hostilities.

Real Import
Dhristhketu in Sanskrit means the seat of flash of a brave intuitive impulse. Anything which gives you intuitive braveness is called Dhristhketu. This is born of the hormonal rush in your teens. That is why he is shown as the son of Shishupal—which in Sanskrit means the protector of teenage. What really protects you during the teenage? Is it your reason or your hormonal drive? It is the latter. What is that hormonal drive like? It makes you behave like Shishupal does—challenging the Almighty by burning the Dwarika and stealing the horse of Krishna’s father. Here burning the Dwarika means burning the heart. The heart is where Krishna lives and Adrenalin gland is present and Dwarika is where he lived bodily. The early youth indulges in many acts of heart burning—which prove counter-productive in many ways. Stealing the horse of Krishna’s father means challenging the existing principles of the Almighty—vasu means existing and deva means the principle of cause and effect (that is the law or the principles). That is what the early youth is expert at. Finally, Krishna kills his cousin Shishupal when he commits his 101th sin. Krishna had promised Shishupal’s mother that He would not kill him till his 100 sins.  Shishupal was a Hiranyakashipu, a demon king and father of Prahlad. Harinayakashipu was killed by  the Lion-God Narsimha. Hiranyak means sperms and shipu means wasted. Together they represent the sexual impulse which triggers spermatogenesis, whose son is Prahlaad, which means giver of ecstasy. This again is the hormonal upsurge, which is  converted into spiritual ecstasy by a courageous impulse   represented by the Lion-God. That Hiranyak impulse is reborn as Shishupal. Shishupal was born with four hands and three eyes—the form which represents that of Vishnu. However, it is fake.  The moment Krishna puts him on His knees after his birth, his extra arms and eye fall off and a prophecy is made that Krishna will kill him. However, Shishupal’s aunt makes Krishna promise her that he will not kill him. Krishna promised her that he would forgive his 100 sins.

The100 sins
This only suggests that the Shishupal spurt of hormones makes you falsely believe as if you Lord Himself. Hundred sins are the wrongs the hormonal spurt makes you commit through all the 10 senses. How? By raising their capacities 10 times each against the natural principles and hence the entire event is taken as 100 sins. They are pardonable. But, the 101th one isn’t. Krishna, the mysterious power of natural discipline and maturity, beheads it.
Shishupal’s son is Dhrishtketu— the flash of brave impulse is made the king of Chedi—the kingdom of youth which goes by the phrases (cha iti—if not this then this—options). The king of options is Dhritketuh. Where do these options generate?  They generate in the brain in the form of responses. Shishupal represents the pituitary gland, which is responsible for all youth hormones. A mysterious (Krishna) message system in the brain assigns pineal gland (Dhristketu) the function to regulate youth hormones and the function of the pituitary gland—this is Shishupal Vadh and crowning of Dhrishtketu. Now Dhrishtketu,  is killed by Dron—your conscious memory takes over the pineal gland authority till it is released in super-consciousness (that is Dron killing).

Since, Dhrishtketu (the seat of the flash of brave impulse) is crowned king of Chedi by Yudhisthir ( repository of Brahma consciousness). Later, in the battle against the Kauravas, Dhrishtketu is killed (taken over) by Dron (the memory). Memory takes over the functions of the body and emotions!

Takeaway: Let your Dhrishtketu guide you in the battle of hormones. Dhrishtketu is courageous brain flash which controls your hormonal spurt and helps you gain control of things till memory takes over its role.
